Welcome remarks
Stamford Campus Dean shares the importance of getting connected to services and asking for help from the Office of Student Services staff
Engagement/Diversity Activity
Orientation Leaders will lead an ice breaker for participants to get to know one another prior to engaging in a Diversity Activity. Diversity Activity will allow for participants to self-disclose and learn about the importance of individual identities and recognize the similarities and differences among student groups.
Protect Our Pack - Presented by the Rowan Center
UConn is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all of our students, staff and faculty. As part of this commitment, the University requires that incoming undergraduate students on all UConn campuses complete an interpersonal violence prevention program known as Protect Our Pack.
Resource Fair/Lunch
Various campus and community partners will be present to showcase their services. By engaging with at least 5 offices/services, participants will receive a gift
UConn Trivia
Engage in a fun and interactive trivia game while learning the top things to know in order to be successful at UConn
Advising 101 and Academic Advising by Majors
Meet with the advising staff to learn about general education and major requirements, general academic policies and plan for course registration
Program concludes by 5:00pm EST
First-Year Student Orientation
Orientation is a 2-day program required for all first-year students at UConn Stamford. Your first day will be spent on-campus connecting with peers and administrators in person, learning about campus resources, and beginning the advising process. On your second day, you will meet virtually with an advisor one-on-one or in small groups to discuss your academic plan for the fall semester and register for courses.

UConn Regional Undergraduate Family Orientation – Summer 2024
Family Orientation is a program designed to educate our husky family members about offices, services, resources, and processes that can help you in supporting your student as they transition to UConn.

University Privacy will provide an overview of FERPA, how students can designate access, and other resources.
June 12: Financial Responsibility
One Stop and the Bursar will discuss payment methods, types of aid, an overview of deadline and other resources.
June 13: Student Health and Wellness
Student Health and Wellness will review required documentation, an overview of their services, and how a family member can support their student.
June 18: University Safety
University Safety will share information about how students can access help and provide insight for how students can remain safe both on campus and in their respective community.
June 19: Disability Services
The Center for Disability Services will discuss the differences between high school and college accommodations, the types of accommodations the university offers, required documentation and the registration process, and other resources.
June 20: Understanding Advising
Advising staff will discuss general degree requirements, the academic calendar, the advising process, the advisor/advisee relationship, transfer credits, and other important information.
June 25: Eating in Your Community
Representatives from each regional campus will review eating options, Husky Harvest, how to plan for dietary accommodations, and other relevant information.
June 26: Career Development
The Center for Career Development will provide an overview of career progression during college, services, and recourse available to students and alumni.
In-Person Family Orientation
Each regional campus is also hosting an in-person event where family members of new students are invited to come explore campus, meet staff and administrators, and learn about campus specific programs/resources. Registration for this event will be available in the Family Onboarding Portal. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with information about parking, event location, etc.

Prior to the Fall 2024 semester, Orientation Services recorded a webinar series designed for family members of all regional campus students. This program was designed to educate our husky family members about offices, services, resources, and processes that can help you in supporting your student as they transition to UConn.
