First-Year & Transfer Student Orientation
Orientation is a 1-day program required for all new students at UConn Avery Point. Your Orientation experience will be spent on-campus connecting with peers and administrators in person, learning about campus resources, participating in academic advising, and registering for courses. First-year and transfer students attend Orientation together.

First-Year & Transfer Student Orientation
Orientation is a 1-day program required for all new students at UConn Avery Point. Your Orientation experience will be spent on-campus connecting with peers and administrators in person, learning about campus resources, participating in academic advising, and registering for courses. First-year and transfer students attend Orientation together.
Registration for later sessions will open once current sessions are filled to capacity.

Supporting Your Husky Webinar Series
What is Family Orientation?
Family Orientation is a program designed to educate our husky family members about offices, services, resources and processes that can help you in supporting your student as they transition to UConn.
What is this Webinar Series about?
This webinar series is open to family members of all regional campus and international students. It was designed with flexibility in mind. So, family members are able to participate live from anywhere when the webinar is scheduled or watch a recording at their leisure.
Registration is required for each webinar. Use the links in the schedule to sign up for the webinars you plan to attend.

Learn how your student can make the most of their experience as they navigate campus housing and/or the on and off-campus dining experiences. You’ll learn what life is like living is a residence hall, the community expectations, and the roommate and housing selection process. You’ll also hear about what options are available to your student so they can maintain healthy eating habits.
Career Readiness
Discover the career resources available to UConn students, from internships and job opportunities to resume building and networking. Learn how to encourage your student to take advantage of career services early in their college experience.
In-Person Family Welcome Event
Each regional campus is also hosting an in-person event where family members of new students are invited to come explore campus, meet staff and administrators, and learn about campus specific programs/resources. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with information about parking, event location, etc.

There is no in-person Family Orientation program for family members of students beginning at UConn regional campuses in the spring semester. We encourage you to watch the webinar series and reach out to those offices with any specific questions.
