|If you have been approved for a campus change from a regional campus to the Storrs campus for the fall semester, the Campus Change Orientation program is designed for you.||Sample Schedule Campus Change Orientation will be available shortly|
NOTE: This program is for UConn Campus Change students only.
The Campus Change Orientation program to the Storrs campus runs from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m. At orientation, you will learn about the services, resources and opportunities available on the Storrs campus and receive a guided walking tour. The tour is focused on academic buildings and support service facilities and not residence halls. University residence halls are not open during the summer and are located on the outer rim of campus. We can indicate on a campus map where your residence hall is and you can either walk or drive there after the tour if you want to see the outside of the building.
VALUE OF THE PROGRAM: The Campus Change program will give you a selection of sessions to choose from. These sessions include information on how to be academically successful at Storrs, life in a residence hall, or commuting to campus, how to get involved on campus (co-curricular activities), and opportunities available through the Center for Career Services. You will also get a customized walking tour given by the student tour leaders from the Lodewick Visitors Center to see the buildings that interest you. These are the buildings that you will list on your Orientation reservation. The tour does not visit residence halls though because residence halls are not open during the summer. The one-day Campus Change Orientation program provides you with a lot of information that can help you as a new member of the Storrs campus community. The month of June is the only time we are offering Orientation programs for Campus Change students so take advantage of it.
EXPECTATIONS IF YOU DECIDE TO ATTEND THE PROGRAM. Out of respect for the university program session presenters who are taking time out of their busy schedules to be a part of this Orientation program we expect that campus change students attend ALL sessions of Orientation. A personalized campus tour will be conducted in the afternoon specifically showing students the buildings that they indicated they wanted to see on their Orientation reservation form. The tour will be conducted by the student staff of the Lodewick Visitors Center. The sessions presented in the morning are conducted by University staff and faculty. If you do not intend to attend all program sessions then please do not register for Campus Change Orientation.
Cost to Attend
There is no charge to attend this program with the exception of paying for parking in the North Garage, and lunch if you wish to eat on campus.
Students will be responsible for paying to park in the North Parking Garage to avoid ticketing during the campus change orientation program. The charge for parking during the program will be approximately $9 (covers 6-7 hours) payable when you exit the garage. There are no other charges for the program.
